On October 26 and 27, 2017, about 700 producers and creatives from all over the world gathered in Berlin to exchange ideas and celebrate the most well-crafted works of the year.
A jury chaired by Robert Campbell (Founder of Outsider), Guido Heffels (CCO of Heimat Berlin), Sara Dunlop (Director at Rattling Stick), Matt Factor (President of Skunk) and Adrian Belina (ECD at JAM3) chose -among more than 1,000 entries- the best works in 46 categories divided in five sections: BRAND CONTENT / SHORT FORM, BRAND CONTENT / LONG FORM, MUSIC VIDEOS, FASHION FILMS and DIGITAL CRAFT. See the complete list of jurors HERE.
More than 100 entries were awarded and three of them won a Grand Prix: “Sandy Hook Promise – Evan” (directed by Henry-Alex Rubin, produced by Smuggler and created by BBDO NY); “Jay-Z – The Story of O.J.” (directed by Jay-Z and Mark Romanek, produced by The Mill) and “Audi – Enter Sandbox” (directed by Kjetil Botten Skogly and produced by MediaMonks). You can find the complete list of winners HERE.
During the festival, delegates from all over the world enjoyed a complete programme of talks and panels. The line-up of speakers included multi-awarded directors Tom Kuntz and Noam Murro, Benjamin Braun (CMO, Audi UK), Will Lion (Head of Strategy, BBH), Damir Maric (Head of Global Campaigns and Product Content, Mercedes-Benz), Kim Gehrig (Director, Somesuch), Hannah Beachler (Production Designer) Andrew Smith (Marketing Director, Booking.com) and Emma Reeves (Executive Director, Free the Bid), among many others. Representatives from about 100 companies also had the chance to meet top creatives and producers in two exlusive networking activities, The Market and The Agora.
After two amazing days, the awards ceremony kicked off with the some great grooves from The Hot 8 Brass Band, presented by Pitch & Sync. Once the ceremony was over, guests had a celebration party at Soho House Berlin, with director Tom Kuntz behind the turntables. A high note closing for the international conference and award show fully dedicated to the craft in moving image, that will come back to Berlin next year.
